Maxxis is back with a brand-new gravel tire. The Maxxis Receptor 650B Tire is a gravel rider’s dream tire, featuring a semi-slick center tread, combined with a small knobs on the outskirts of the tire for cornering grip. This tire excels on pavement but was designed for use off-road as well, making for a versatile gravel tire that allows you to keep on riding when the pavement runs out. The Receptor features Maxxis’s EXO protection for enhanced cut and abrasion resistance on the sidewalls of the tires.  Maxxis went with their dual compound rubber, which uses two separate rubber compounds for an excellent balance between grip and low rolling resistance. For a supple casing, Maxxis used a 120 TPI casing to provide a lightweight and supple casing that conforms to the ground and keeps the weight to a minimum. Last but not least, the Maxxis Receptor is Tubeless-Ready, which means it can be easily setup to be tubeless for more traction and less weight.
